About: Also known as Daojiao Literate Tower, the 3-level Weihuan Tower has proved to be built in Ming dynasty and later restored respectively in 1932 and 1990. The pentagonal architecture has thick eaves and a gourd-shaped top and measures 15.1 meters tall. Its bottom is made of granite and body black brick and red stone. On its three levels hang three stone tablets which separately write Chinese idioms “Fu-yao-zhi-shang (means skyrocket),” “Wen-jing-wu-wei(be endowed with civil and martial virtues),” and “Wei-huan-tower.” Inside the tower, there remain statues of Emperor Wenchang (known as god of knowledges) and Emperor Wu (known as god of military capabilities). Unfortunately, the original wooden ladder inside the tower has been destroyed.
