About: Does a tour around a picturesque lake surrounded by airy pavilions, bridges, pagodas and meandering lanes sound enticing? West Lake in Huizhou is the right place to go. What’s more, it is bestowed with historical heritage. West Lake Tourist Resort situates at the center of Huicheng District of Huizhou, a city in south-east Guangdong. With West Lake and Honghua Lake, the tourist resort covers 21.83 km2, among which 3.35 km2 are water area. As a national AAAA rating tourist resort, it is known for the five lakes, six bridges and fourteen sightseeing spots. According to historical records, among the thirty six west lakes in China, only West Lake in Huizhou can be compared with the West Lake in Hangzhou. A poet once wrote a poem saying that compared with the latter one, the West Lake in Huizhou carries more natural beauty. More than 400 ancient literati have visited West Lake. In more recent history, revolutionary forerunners and leaders such as Sun Yat-sen and Zhou Enlai have carried out mission in Huizhou. All these have add to the natural beauty of West Lake.

Transportation:Bus: To the East Gate of West Lake: take one of the following buses: Bus No. 2, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 19, 21, 24, 25, 41, 209 or sightseeing Bus No. 1 and get off at Donghu Men station. To Fengzhu Garden: take one of the following buses: Bus No. 17, 29, 202, 208, 369, K2 and get off at Zhongyi Yuan (Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine) station. Taxi: There are currently more than 600 taxis in Huizhou, mainly comprised of Sportline of Faw-Volkswagen and New Fukang of Citroen which are not in good condition. In the urban district of Huizhou, the starting taxi fare is RMB 5 (fuel oil surcharge: RMB 1); and after the initial 2 km, additional charges is RMB 0.5/ 200 m.
