Pastry Masters Workshop successfully held in Guangzhou


Hyatt held its first Pastry Masters Workshop for China and previewed the Romance Collection by the Grand Hyatt - 2018/19 Garden Series

The first Hyatt China Pastry Masters Workshop was successfully held at the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou from June 7 to 10, 2018 in yet another demonstration of Hyatt’s commitment to culinary excellence and innovation. Over 40 pastry chefs from Hyatt hotels across China captivated public imagination with their delectable creations, while collaborating to create ever more heavenly recipes.

 “In order to reinforce Hyatt’s culinary excellence and competitiveness, we have focused on three aspects this year – incorporating seasonal elements in our food and beverage, returning to the fundamentals, and introducing new ingredients across our hotels to improve their consistency and efficiency,” said Sebastian Wu, Hyatt’s Director of Food and Beverage. “The Pastry Masters Workshop was a demonstration of this focus and a great start for us to fulfill our ambitions for the future.”

The highlight of the Workshop was the Sweet Encounter Dessert Showcase in the afternoon of June 9, where all the pastry chefs showcased their extraordinary creations. The spread featured a smorgasbord of breads, ice cream, cakes, chocolates, cookies, candies and all kinds of desserts for different dining occasions including coffee breaks for events, high tea offerings, buffet selections, as well as wedding banquets. 

In addition, guests had the opportunity to observe the pastry masters up close and personal at work while participating in the culinary creative process. To top it off, the attendees were indulged with the Pastry Master Afternoon Tea creation and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails.

A preview of the “Romance Collection – 2018/19 Garden Series”, an experiential wedding concept introduced by the Grand Hyatt brand for its hotels in the Asia Pacific, was also unveiled at the event. The Romance Collection, which is launching in China this year, offers spectacular nuptial celebrations the likes of which no one has ever seen. Following the garden theme –Royal (mint and peach), Blossom (pink and grey), Enchanted (emerald and gold) and Lavender (purple and green) – the four sensational concepts promise an immersive, multi-sensory experience using customised video and animation, bespoke scent, specially composed music, and breath taking arrangements of flowers and foliage to create an event to remember.
