Fairmont Peace Hotel’s 11-floor art deco facade is designed in the Gothic style of the Chicago school. It is crowned by a green copper sheathed triangular roof, which has become a defining feature of the splendid Bund skyline.
History is preserved in the hotel’s unique Peace Museum, which features a wealth of precious items from Polaroid snaps to pepper shakers acquired from a worldwide quest for documentary evidence and memorabilia.

Entering the hotel through one of four vintage revolving doors, guests immediately feel a sense of the style and sophistication of its 1930s heyday, including the stunning octagonal stained glass lay light that had for decades been covered up with gypsum board.

Just off the lobby, the ground floor functions as a Retail Arcade featuring luxury brand flagships across custom-patterned stone mosaic floors.
Also on the ground floor, an original antique elevator cage featuring walnut paneling, amber mottled glass ceiling, mosaic floor and Peace Hotel inspired grillwork is no longer operable, but makes a stunning heritage feature. It is also part of the unique Fairmont Peace Hotel History Tour offered to guests.

Guestrooms feature 1930s period flourishes along with contemporary comforts and cutting-edge technology. Fashionable luxury materials of the day, such as grey-vein marble, Noir St. Laurent dark limestone and walnut burl grain woods, adorn the interior surfaces. A soft buff and blue color palette, ornately coffered ceilings, polished copper balustrades and Lalique glass fixtures are also on display.
