When I met Arx Lee for the first time, I was immediately attracted by his gentleness and demeanor. In my life and career, I have met a lot of artists. Everyone has his own personality and special character, but rarely like Arx. From the moment when I met him, I was much impressed by his frankness and unpolished talent.
In the past decade, I have seen transformation of his works. Every time I visited his studio, I am always surprised at the level of his self-demand, not just at painting, but also at the thinking about the whole creative process.
He is less than forty years old, but his insistence on his belief has brought his works to a deeper level, as if every detail is harmoniously conceived, and this also proves his artistic maturity. Maybe due to this force, he already has a lot of fans and “disciples” following him for art study despite his young age.

The commonality of Arx’s works comes from the close relationship between him and the roles created by him. In the past decade, he has focused on three characters: the naive hero “Bilibi”, the amnesic, fragile and thoughtful “Buda Pest”, and the perseverant adventurer “Bumi”.
The famous American talented director Tim Burton once mentioned that how he combined the crazy weird world with the innate talent through painting, and then created another universe and various fantastic creatures. He said “Painting is a way of communication, and subconscious idea can be expressed without talk”.
In front of Arx’s works, we feel that he is just a tool of his own imagination, and his imagination controls his hands to paint everything on the canvas, and interprets a completely different universal visual vocabulary through his paintbrush waving, almost magic.
