Quantum mechanics tells us that, unless being observed, everything is uncertain; but we live in a definite world where observations have already happened.
The discussions of parallel universes would become a grammatical investigation. Just as what Ludwig Wittgenstein reminded, this investigation is directed not towards phenomena but towards the “possibilities” of phenomena.

Before scientists fulfill their promises to take us out of this established universe and into another alien sphere, artists have already committed the transgression.
While feeling and viewing “Into the Scenery” and “Out of the settled”, something like the “différance” termed by Jacques Derrida is happening. Difference and deferral, the Siamese twins almost impossible to be seized, somehow havs been caught by the artist. In différance, we have escaped from the established situation, in the meanwhile the undetected becomes the undeveloped.
We have entered art, constantly re-observing in the alien sphere of uncertainties. We are observing the growing flowers, but they are testing us simultaneously. We are observing the magic in a lab, but we are being experimented. In the midst of this alien sphere, there must be ce qui nous regarde.

Gadamer said, “all playing is a being-played.” The game has exerted and constructed the player’s presence. Images are differing and deferring in the sophisticated time-and-space relations, and we are just like these images. Words have been split and reorganized by the new grammatical rules, and we are just like these words. The sphere of uncertainty has exerted and constructed the existence of viewers and dissidents. One may ask for the meaning of the exertion and construction. It might be our desire for “possibilities”. In a world where everything has been settled, how amazing it is that we still find in ourselves the human nature to transgress, which has not been sunk deep and extinguished.
Into the Scenery, one might see something different from the settled; Out of the Settled, one might think of something changeable.
About Ruijun Shen
Ruijun Shen received her Master's degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and was awarded an Joan Mitchell grant and a Toby Devan Lewis Fellowship. Besides took part in exhibitions such as Please Come Back, The World as A Prison?(National Museum of 21st Century Arts, Rome, 2017), International Ink Art Biennale of Shenzhen(2013) and Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture(2013) and held solo exhibitions in Gallery Yang (Beijing, 2016) and Linda Warrens Gallery(Chicago, 2008), she attended the Sence/ Asia Symposium both in 2017 and 2016 and worked as an awarded artist or scholar in residency or fellowship, such as Parc Jean-Jacques Rousseau(2017), New Museum Fellowship(supported by Wu Zuo Ren Art Foundation, 2014).
About Ying Zhuo
Ying Zhuo graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2002, majoring in Oil Painting. She received her Master’s degree in Academy of Art University in 2006, majoring in Animation and recently works as a faculty in GAFA. She took part in many important exhibitions, such as LIANZHOU FOTO 2016, International Urban Image Festival·Shenzhen·Futian·2016, We like’ Em Short Film Festival(2016), and held her solo exhibitions in Kui Yuan Gallery(2012) and 625 Gallery(2009).Her works were collected by Shanghai Ming Contemporary Art Museum(2008) and Academy of Art University(2006).
